Your Consultation
Your chiropractor will start with a discussion about you, your health and your reasons for asking for chiropractic care. The consultation will take about 45 mins.
The Examination
You will have a thorough health history taken which will not just be about your presenting complaint but also about your past health history. You will then be asked to undergo an appropriate examination of the neuromusculoskeletal system (nerves, muscles and joints). Sometimes it may also be necessary to examine other areas, such as lungs, heart and abdomen.
A Full Explanation
Based on the findings the chiropractor will decide whether any additional investigations are necessary before treatment can begin. At the end of your examination you will be given a diagnosis and a thorough report of findings. We will give you a full explanation of our treatment procedure if we determine chiropractic can help you, or give you a referral to the appropriate specialist if we determine we cannot help. Some treatment may be given at the first consultation but this depends on you and your presenting complaint.
