Introducing Reading Chiropractor Andrew Green

“You are younger today than you will ever be again. Make use of it for the sake of tomorrow.”
People often ask me why I decided to become a Chiropractor. I first experienced chiropractic care myself four weeks before I was due to represent Great Britain at the Under-23 world rowing championships in 1992. I had suddenly felt an acute pain in my low back and was directed to a friend’s brother who happened to be a Chiropractor. He relieved my back pain, and got me back into the boat very quickly. Unfortunately we just missed out on a medal! After that moment I found out much more about the profession and had found my direction and career. Chiropractic is a health care profession where I can have a direct benefit on the health of my patients and their families.
I studied at the Anglo European School of Chiropractic which is internationally renowned. AECC is a unique institution. It offers only chiropractic awards. This focus on just one profession's educational needs makes for a learning exercise where everything is directly relevant and applicable to the safe and competent practise of chiropractic. The MChiro degree is a very prestigious award of which it's students, graduates and staff are immensely proud. It is accredited for the UK by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and for the rest of the European Union by the European Council for Chiropractic Education (ECCE). It is validated by the Portsmouth University with whom the College is affiliated.
When I am not at the clinic, then I am either found on the River Thames coaching rowing in Oxford, or I am out and about with my family. I have been passionate about Rowing for many years, and was lucky enough to win a bronze medal at the 1994 Commonwealth Games Regatta, in Canada. I have been coaching at Headington School,Oxford, since 2001 and have produced a string of girls who have gone on to represent Great Britain at all levels. Needless to say their posture is very good in the boat, and their backs are finely tuned!
I have recently been appointed Chief Coach of the Oxford University Womens Boat Club.
My wife, Laura, is also a chiropractor, and we have two fantastic little boys. Harry and Kaspar are very fit and well and have always had regular treatment themselves. Harry was born seven weeks prematurely but was receiving some very gentle treatment while in the incubator. Laura and I have both seen the benefits of regular treatments to family, friends and patients of all ages from the very young to the elderly.
As a thirty something I have begun to take my health seriously especially since I became a dad recently. It is only with having children that you realise the energy that you need and the energy you just don't have. The same as every family we had our bad habits eating junk food because we hadn't thought about our meals, not going to the gym because well there just isn't time, or is there?

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”
I see a lot of patients who have been “sweeping their problem under the carpet for years”, and have been crossing their fingers that their pain will disappear. Usually these people need a “first-aid approach” to ease their discomfort, but more importantly there is the need for education in exercises and advice on nutritional, lifestyle or ergonomic aspects that can all have a substantial effect on their well-being. We aim to improve the health of our patients, not just remove their pain!
Thanks for taking the time to visit our site. I look forward to meeting you in person and learning how we may be of service to you. Make the change today, give the clinic a call or email me using the link below and let's arrange a time to explore your options.
Introducing Chiropractor Heidi Lovelock

Heidi graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic and began working at the Reflex Clinic in January 2007. She was born and brought up in Henley, attended Queen Anne’s school in Caversham and has always been keen to stay in the local area. Heidi treats conditions such as neck pain, headaches, low back pain, sciatica and sports injuries, although all conditions are welcomed.
Heidi thinks it is important to work with the patient so they have an understanding of their condition and can take an active role in their care and rehabilitation. This increases the chances of long-term recovery and supports a healthy lifestyle. She has a particular interest in using medical acupuncture, which can be very effective in relieving muscular discomfort. She also considers Chiropractic treatment as a beneficial part of care during and after pregnancy as it can help with skeletal and muscular syndromes that can develop during this time.
